To the Edge

A collection of paintings by Joel Plunkett

I am a painter who has been painting largely figurative paintings for many years. In recent years, the figures in the paintings tended to be looking for something and, among other things, walking away from the viewer toward a distant horizon.

I, like one of those figures, have now arrived at that edge, the horizon: the place where all things coincidently meet and disintergrate.

This ongoing body of work is an exploration of that edge and what I have found. It is here is in this space and silence that I consider and appreciate what I have found.
